The purpose of this web site is to make the shipboard ADCP data easy to access via the Ron Brown network. Therefore we provide a selection of plots (some manually generated, some automatically generated,) some data files, and the directory tree in which the data processing is being done. Please feel free to copy data and plots onto your local machine.
Fully automated data processing and plotting is being developed. When functional, processing of 5-minute averages will be done frequently on a fixed schedule in one directory tree. The automatic system wil be configured to update the processing and high resolution plots hourly.
The automated processing system includes heading corrections from the
Seapath, and as much editing as we have been able to automate. It
includes a good correction for soundspeed and transducer orientation.
Although a final processing of the ADCP data set after the
cruise will be needed, we hope that the differences between the final version
and the automated version will be small. The biggest differences will likely
be found under adverse conditions: shallow water, lack of scatterers,
bad weather.
For long-term installations, documentation is posted here. This can include information about the installtion, instructions for Marine Science Technicians about the data collection and the computer systems used, and information for scientists on board about data processing methods and how to access the data and figures.
