2.8.2. A note about PATHs

PATHs

The installation instructions in this documentation should have left you in a situation where you do not need to manualy alter your environment $PATH variable. There is no longer a $PYTHONPATH environment variable for processing.

  • For the Virtual Computer, it has already been done.

  • For the Anaconda install, the Anaconda installation takes care of changing your $PATH.

  • For the Linux installation, we are putting everything in “system” locations so all the pieces are already on your path.

Please email uhdas@hawaii.edu if you want instructions about installing the CODAS processing code on a Linux machine in a location other than the standard system location. It can be done, but requires a little bash bootstrapping, and is not for beginners.

topog

Make sure the topog directory is in the right place.

  • For the Virtual Computer, this has already been done.

  • For Anaconda, you must copy or link topog into the root anaconda directory (for OSX or Linux, it is ~/anconda)

  • For the system Linux install, it should be moved or linked into /usr/local/topog
