Cruise Data

The data used for this evaluation come from the CLIVAR cruise RB1304, which went from Iceland to Brazil (via Madiera), stopping about every 0.5 degree latitude to do a full-depth CTD cast. This resulted in about 150 stations, covering 65deg of latitude. ADCP data were acquired and processed using University of Hawaii’s UHDAS software link here.

For most of the cruise, underway data were gathered while steaming along the southbound sampling line. The “on station/underway” nature of the cruise provides an exceptional collection of calibration points in the ADCP processing, to determine the errors in the heading used.
